Over 150 years ago, the Sisters of St. Joseph arrived in Canada, not knowing their journey would forever change the path of healthcare. They put their lives at risk, tending to the sick and dying, and built a foundation of core values where it is an honor to serve the most vulnerable and marginalized. Over time, they began educating the next generation in healthcare, driven by a singular mission: to provide compassionate care for all.

Today, we are guided by that same mission. Inspired by the values of our founders, we've grown into one of the largest healthcare organizations in Canada. Each year, we help Canadians across our vast network, providing a comprehensive slate of services to improve the health of citizens and their communities. Through research, we're developing new technologies and better models of care, providing seamless transitions for our patients from hospital to home.

And beyond our borders, we provide resources and assistance to those who need it most. Through the International Outreach Program, we're increasing healthcare services in developing countries through the delivery of equipment, education, and ongoing support, to help build healthy communities for everyone.
