The Hamilton Burlington area is a fantastic place to live. One of the things I love so much about showing it to my buyers is they've got a choice. Just about any housing style that you'd like to find, you can find here in the greater Hamilton Burlington area. The Realtors Association of Hamilton Burlington is an association of members which was established in 1921.
The purpose of RAB is to empower Realtors to succeed. We facilitate running a marketplace in the local area for real estate and we believe that our members are of the highest quality Realtors in Ontario and we aim to keep them at the forefront. RAB Professional Development Opportunities empowers Realtors to stay informed and on trend with industry related issues.
We offer a wide variety from computer training, industry related issues, social media training, negotiations, anything that's going to help the real estate professional in their day to day operations. RAB Realty Shop offers one stop shopping for all the real estate professional needs from open out signs, frames to your lock boxes. The Realtors as well as understanding their business, they also need to understand how the government impacts their business.
We've built relationships with local councillors. We also are known for being very supportive at the provincial and the federal level. We are seen as a strong and supportive board. We have a strong membership and we have a very engaged membership. Our MLS staff collectively has over 70 years of experience. We answer questions regarding our rules, regulations and MLS policies.
And we take great pride in the fact that we can elicit change for our Realtors in a very fast and efficient way, which in the end only benefits the Realtors as well as the home buyer. Community engagement is really important to our members and it's something that we really take at heart and there's several ways that our members give back. One is Realtors for Kids and to date over a million dollars has been donated to that cause.
Since I became a member, RAB has helped me to see myself not just as an individual out trying to make the next deal, but I see myself as a professional. You see the whole industry from a different perspective and that's what RAB is all about.
