What is Hamilton Community Foundation? For over 70 years, we've been connecting diverse people, ideas, and resources to drive positive change in Hamilton. Our donors' generosity means that we can support organizations that help make our city vibrant in many different ways. We can support long-lasting change because of the unique way our community foundation works.

First, donors give money to the community fund or decide to contribute to a specific area they care about. This money is pooled with other donations and invested. Then, a percentage of the money earned each year is used to make grants. In this way, the original donation is always at work to ensure that we can help Hamilton step up to its challenges and opportunities today and in the future.

One way we put these assets to work today is through impact investing, which allows us to do exciting things, like finance non-profits for community-changing projects, generating social as well as financial returns. Our Community Fund brings the power of collective giving to life, uniting donors to address Hamilton's most urgent needs. The Community Fund is dedicated to Hamilton's greater good, and fuels our work to lead change on big issues like housing, education, equity, and truth and reconciliation.
